Grŵp Cynefin is using Kykloud to get a holistic understanding of the condition of the entire estate whilst extracting valuable existing data from the two existing management systems.
In April 2014 two of North Wales’ leading housing associations merged to create Grŵp Cynefin, the only housing association to operate across all six north Wales counties plus north Powys, with 3,700 homes for rent and 700 affordable homes for aspiring home owners.
Whilst the merger has undoubtedly strengthened the position of the charitable housing association and what it can deliver for its tenants on a practical level it brought with it two sets of housing systems and all the data that they contained.
“With two management systems in place we needed to find the technology that would allow us to extract existing data and add it in to one system to provide us with a holistic set of historic data - which we have been able to do pretty seamlessly with Kykloud.
“We also knew we had our work cut out to fulfil an ambitious four year programme to 100% survey, not clone survey, our entire merged estate.
“But for me Kykloud is not just about the speed of the survey but rather the quality. Getting access in to peoples’ homes is never particularly easy so it’s essential that our surveyors extract all the relevant information we need in that one visit.
“The survey template has been designed to ensure that surveyors are getting all the information that we need and doesn’t allow for omissions and oversights. This is particularly important when bringing together two separate surveying teams as it has helped to ensure a level of consistency as well as validating the data.
“In many ways Kykloud has played a key part in bringing the two organisations together and has enabled us to operate with one set of data whilst using two separate systems.”
